The Easiest ‘Leather’ Jacket:
Not that a leather jacket is underrated, but I think people think they need to be the star of the show. Not this one. I have this black one, and I throw it on over everything. It’s not bulky and pretty minimal, so it’s easy to wear with my workout clothes, my jeans and a sweat, my night out…etc. It’s what I call a “knock around” piece. Doesn’t ’matter what you do to it because it’s $80. I don’t usually recommend buying from Zara because I don’t love pushing fast fashion… But…their leather and faux leather jackets are actually really great for the price points. They have it in brown too.
SkinCeuticals B5 Hydrating Mask:
Anytime I use this, I get compliments on my skin. I had a problem using way too many acids—we have been conditioned to think a good mask is something that unclogs your pores, clears layers of skin, give you a little tingle… This one is extra moisturizing and plumping. I like to sit with it on for about an hour while I clean the house. I shower, don’t really rinse it off, but wipe off the excess and then finish with moisturizer. It literally makes you GLOW. Really good for before a big event.
Citizens of Humanity Nora Straight Leg:
I think this is an incredibly flattering jean. This shape isn’t trendy— i’s pretty universal. You also do not need to be incredibly thin to wear them. I feel like we have all been told to play with proportions. Usually with a baggy pant, you would think to go tight on top. You definitely do not need to do that with these! They have a pretty intentional flair—I really, really love the way they are styled here with a loose sweater (ehemmm, the one from the last newsletter or the one above!). I would actually wear this with a pretty similar outfit but likely would pair it with a sneaker. See below.
Alohas TB 56 Suede Sneakers:
Sneaker silhouettes are getting sleeker, meaning you can still be dressed up in “jeans and a sneaker.” My top pick is a brown shoe with no flashy labels. My true recommendation is from Dries Van Noten, but you really don’t have to spend a ton of money to get the look. My recommendations for you are from Alohas. These are sort of a Miu Miu knockoff. Just pre-order them now for spring! My 2nd favorite is the TB 24—they are a bit flatter, sort of ballet-slipper inspired. Definitely in the brown and beige!!
Timepiece Bracelet:
Simple, but I get a lot of compliments on this one. I like wearing it alone (no other bracelets) along with a ring or two. It’s pretty simple and chic and looks a lot more expensive than it is. I wear it every day. It's a really easy gift as well! I like all of them, but I get compliments on the all-gold or the two-toned most.
Herbert Frere Soeur Leather Belt:
I have a hard time buying belts. Not sure why… I wear one every day! They make you look like you tried. This grommeted one comes in a few colors—as always, I’m going with black, but there is something special about the bordeaux as well. I like that it has a refined edge to it! I would keep it simple. Start with your favorite pair of jeans, throw on a pair of boots, and loosely tuck in a sweater. You will look more sophisticated than you think.
